LTSpice is a fast, robust, and efficient 1D calculation software with schematic input. It is a much improved version of Spice, and also a mixed simulator. It is available for free. It is now multi-task. It underwent some changes recently in algorithms and interface improving speed, but less robust. Anyway Analog Devices is upgrading continuously.
Tcl/Tk is one of the first scripting languages, along with Perl and Python. It is slower than programming languages such as C or C++, but it is robust, and its graphics library allows it to do everything. It is used for application aggregation. It is possible to compile and create the binaries according to your own needs because it is an open source project.
QuickField is a very fast and efficient finite element calculation software that can process hundreds of thousands of nodes. Its preferred field is electromagnetism. The number of modules available (see left) make it a real multi-physics tool for the study of magnetic, electric and thermal fields. It includes 2D and 3D preprocessors, solvers and postprocessors.
